How to Form a Company in Dubai?

The administrative, financial and technical parts are very daunting when it comes to company formation in Dubai. Here are the detailed steps to follow -

  • Choose the free zoneYou need to choose the type of business to set up on free zones. Some free zones have only a few types of activities allowed like medical, media or transport. It is better to set up around other businesses in the same industries. Also consider the transport links. Suppose you are running an import/export business, you may want to choose the free zones around ports or airports.

  • Company name – There are strict rules for naming the businesses in the UAE. Be sure the company name conforms well. Don’t choose any name which sounds offensive. If your business is named after a person, he or she must be the owner or partner of the company and you need to use their full name – no abbreviations or initials.

  • Finalize the paperwork – You will need to complete paperwork for your business activity and company name with copies of passports of shareholders to the concerned authorities. Additional paperwork may be required in some free zones like NOC and business plan. Paperwork shouldn’t be too taxing.

  • License notification – After processing your application, you will get your company license from the government.

  • Bank account – After getting all the paperwork back, you will need to open a corporate account on your bank with all the documents you need. There are many local and international banks in the UAE, such as Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Emirates NBD, and Commercial Bank of Dubai, and international ones like Citibank, HSBC and Barclays.

Visa process – It is the last and most important thing you should do for company formation in Dubai. You can apply for a visa for your staff and your dependents in many free zones. It is up to the free zone you choose to start your business when it comes to submit the number of applications.
