According to the report, there are 5 locations issued over 43.7% of new business licenses
in total during the first half of 2020. In the first 6 months, a total of 16,826 business
licenses have been issued by Dubai Economy.
Around 15% of the total business licenses issued is in Al Garhoud to set up new
businesses, while Burj Khalifa stands second with 12%. Following this race are Oud Al
Muteena with 6.5% licenses, Trade Centre with 5.2% and Oud Metha with 4.8%.
A total of 2535 licenses issued for new businesses in Al Garhoud and the largest share
goes to “Professional activity”. Around 50% (6096) have Professional licenses out of total
12,192 businesses in this region. In addition, around 48% (5940) businesses have
Commercial licenses. Businessmen received 97% new licenses, women entrepreneurs
received 2.2% and companies received 0.8% new licenses.
Limited Liability Company has 5758 active licenses which stands first in legal entities in Al
Garhoud. Following the lead are Civil Company with 4102 licenses and 1820 licenses for
Sole Establishments.
There are 2022 new licenses issued in Burj Khalifa during the first 6 months of 2020 out
of which 59.6% of total active licenses (21941) goes to Commercial activity. Following the
lead is Professional activity with a share of 38.3%.
A lot of residential and commercial complexes are located in Al Garhoud area and it is well
located in the proximity to the City Centre Deira, Dubai Festive City Mall, and Dubai
International Airport. On the other side, Burj Khalifa is already a world-famous tourist
destination as part of Downtown Dubai. Hence, it also rules the commercial sector of
Dubai.
